Lake Ala‑Köl is located in the Kara‑Kol district and can be reached only on foot. Visiting is carried out as part of a trekking route, either independently or with an organized group.

For visiting Ala‑Köl it is recommended to have a guide.
This increases route safety and helps properly distribute effort and acclimatization

The route is suitable only for physically prepared teenagers.
Trekking to the lake is not recommended for small children

On average, the trek takes 2–3 days depending on the chosen option and group pace
