One day, carefully planned
Tour programme
The tour is built around an afternoon departure, so there is no early start. A transfer of about 40 minutes brings the group from Bishkek to Ala-Archa National Park, the closest high mountain gorge to the capital. From the park entrance the walk follows the valley among Tian Shan spruce, roughly 2 km one way with around 300 m of ascent, and those who want to go higher can continue on foot or take the cable car to the Broken Heart viewpoint. The difficulty is moderate, and there is time at the top for photographs before the return transfer to the city.
